FAQ
Does tameyeti use folders or tags I have to manage?
No. Every entry is broken into atoms, tagged, and categorized automatically. There's nothing to file and no tags to maintain.
Does tameyeti do reminders or calendar events?
No. tameyeti is for saving and finding things you've captured, not scheduling. It doesn't set reminders or manage appointments.
Does tameyeti have a map?
Yes. Atlas shows where entries were made and what they're about on a map, and separates the two: where you were when you wrote something isn't the same as what the entry is about. It's filterable, and you can lasso a region to pull up everything there, send it to someone, or jump back to the original entry.
Which apps can I use to save things to tameyeti?
WhatsApp, Telegram, Apple Notes (via a notarized Mac sync app), Claude, and ChatGPT (through MCP).
Does AI read my entries?
Yes, that's how tameyeti transcribes and tags what you save. Entries go to AI providers with no user ID attached and are never used to train a model, and providers don't store what you send.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, any time. Export everything as a JSON file from Account settings.
What happens if I stop paying?
Everything you've already saved stays browsable and searchable. You just can't capture new entries or use Ask Yeti without a plan.
What are Lenses?
AI-derived views built from your own saved entries, each one citing the specific entries it's drawn from. Emotions, Goals, Personality, MBTI, and more. They unlock after 20 entries.
Does it recognize songs, films, and books?
Yes. Songs and albums are enriched through Spotify, films and TV through TMDB, books through Wikidata and Wikipedia. Books, films, and TV shows also get a completed checkbox.
How do I find something I saved?
Ask Yeti, or send a voice note or text on WhatsApp or Telegram. Search runs through an AI-powered concierge.
Is Ask Yeti just search, or can it actually answer questions?
It reasons over your entries instead of just matching keywords. Ask something like "chart the arc of my goals over the last 7 years" and it works from what you've saved to answer it.
What's the historical figures tool?
Name a person, or a specific angle on them, like "Marie Curie as described only by her lab notes." tameyeti builds out a real run of journal entries in their voice, broken into chronological eras of their life. Inhabit them and the whole app scopes to their entries until you switch back.
What's the idea provenance tool?
Type in an idea and tameyeti traces where it actually came from: the traditions, eras, and thinkers it passed through, backed by real sources, not just other ideas that sound similar. It also surfaces the movements that opposed it at the time. There's an Off-World option too, for ideas whose origin story is a dream, a vision, or a claimed contact with something not of this world.
Can I build my own tools on top of tameyeti?
Yes. The MCP server is a direct interface to your own data. Connect Claude, or write your own client against it, and build whatever you want: graphs, custom apps, anything that can talk MCP.
Can it search screenshots and PDFs, and find specific details in them?
Yes. Screenshots get read for any visible text plus a description of what's in the photo. Photograph a confirmation code on your screen and send it, and tameyeti pulls the code out. PDFs work the same way: it reads the selectable text directly, and for scanned documents, it renders the pages as images and reads those too.
Does it transcribe voice notes?
Yes. Send a voice note and it gets transcribed automatically, on WhatsApp, Telegram, or in the app.
